A lot of people are not being able to reach a decision when it comes to choosing between HostPapa and Bluehost. This is because both the hosting services seem to be equally good.
To have a clear picture of the two hosting services, you have to analyze the important features such as performance, security, pricing, and support. This certainly would need you to spend some time.
However, even if you don't have that much time and patience, you still don't need to worry as I have done an elaborate analysis of the services before writing this post.
HostPapa Vs Bluehost Overview
HostPapa was founded in 2006 and the company has been largely able to keep things extremely advanced yet affordable for the customers for many years now.
The company offers Shared, WordPress, VPS, and Reseller hosting.
The hosting service is exceptionally reliable in terms of performance and security. Besides, the provider also offers an easy-to-use Control Panel, FREE SSL Certificate, FREE Domain name, FREE Site Builder, and FREE Site Migration.
Started in 2003, Bluehost is a popular name in the industry. The web hosting service comprises powerful features and a good customer support service.
The hosting service is also recommended by WordPress and this makes it extremely reliable.
HostPapa Vs Bluehost Features
Performance as always is the most important deciding factor. To comprehend which one of these two hosting services offers the best performance, I bought web hosting from each of the providers.
After that, I hosted a demo site on each of the platforms. I, then, monitored the speed and uptime of the two sites over the past 12 months.
The HostPapa site reflected an uptime of 99.95% and a loading time of 705ms on an average while the Bluehost site recorded an uptime of 99.99% and a loading time of 405ms on an average.
HostPapa has got a good mix of security features comprising a FREE SSL Certificate, firewall, and intrusion detection, Protection Power Website Security, and Automated Website Backup to offer users an extremely safe web hosting environment.
Bluehost has pretty powerful security features too and your site is secure as long as you use the security features such as Resource protection, SiteLock, Domain privacy & protection, CodeGuard, and Spam Protection.
3. Site Migration
With HostPapa, customers have the advantage of having an effortless Site Migration of website files, databases, and email accounts with professional assistance and that too, for FREE.
Once you request the technical team to migrate your site, they will handle every single thing from transferring the website files, databases, scripts, and email accounts from your old hosting account to Hostpapa to modifying and pointing your domain nameservers to the HostPapa servers. This also keeps you out of every bit of fear about downtime.
Even Bluehost offers Professional Site Migration service of transferring website files, email accounts, and databases but the provider does not offer it for free. Customers can get professional Site Migration service for up to 5 websites and 20 email accounts for an additional charge of $149.99.
However, in case, you don't want professional service, there is a turn around for this and you can transfer your website from its old hosting account to Bluehost using an FTP client like FileZilla. You can transfer as many sites as you want without having to pay a single penny for it.
4. Data Centers
HostPapa has 3 data center locations; one in Toronto, Canada, Europe, and another in Los Angeles, USA.
On the other hand, Bluehost has its data centres is not publicly available. I believe they have two data centers, few in the USA and one in India serving through Bluehost India.
HostPapa support comprises 24 x 7 support through email, live chat, and phone alongside video tutorials and a good knowledge base.
Bluehost has one of the finest 24 x 7 support teams and the provider offers brilliant assistance via email, ticket, phone, and Live Chat.
HostPapa Vs Bluehost Pricing
Customers have 3 hosting plans to choose from with HostPapa; Starter, Business, and Business Pro.
Starter for $3.95 includes 2 websites support, FREE domain registration, 100GB SSD Storage, with unlimited bandwidth. HostPapa is the only host to offer two domain hosted on starter plan.
Business for $3.95 includes unlimited websites, unlimited SSD storage, bandwidth unlimited alongside the Starter plan features. The business also includes many advanced features.
Business Pro for $12.95 comes with performance enhancements and security enhancements feature in addition to the Business plan features.
Bluehost provides customers with 4 shared hosting plans to select from; Basic, Plus, Choice Plus, and Pro.
Basic for $3.95 includes 1 Website support, 50 GB SSD, bandwidth unlimited, and Free SSL Certificate.
Plus for $5.95 comes with unlimited websites, unlimited SSD, Spam Experts, 1 Office 365 Mailbox for 30 Days, and Free SSL Certificate.
Choice Plus for $6.95 includes Domain Privacy + Protection in addition to the features of Plus.
Pro for $13.90 comes with high performance, 2 Spam Experts alongside the features of Choice Plus.
As I compared the two hosting services, Bluehost seems to have a leading-edge in terms of performance and data center locations.
However, I found HostPapa more affordable. FREE Domain makes it even affordable. The provider also offers comparatively more resources. For example, the provider offers 2 websites support in the starter plan while Bluehost offers support for only 1 site.
